My Thoughts on Learning iOS

Welcome to my blog! Here, I'll be posting updates on what I've been up to, as well as my thoughts on various technologies. I'll undoubtedly be pontificating on some high-level ideas about the world in general. I hope I won't bore you!

Today, I want to write about my thoughts on iOS, which, for those of you who don't know, is Apple's operating system for the iPhone.

I am a big Apple fan. It's hard for me to express how much joy using an Apple device brings me, especially when compared to what I consider the ultimate in technological utilitarianism: the Windows machine. I have nothing against Microsoft or Windows, but there is something sublime about the experience of using an Apple product.

I am, therefore, very excited to be learning iOS development this term. We were introduced to mobile development last year in our Flutter course. Concurrently, we are also learning Android development. I have started learning some SwiftUI on my own time, and I've been told by our instructor that we will delve deeper into it later in the term.

I consider the iPhone to be among the top technological innovations of all time. Steve Jobs captured the world's imagination with this device. Many copies followed, but in my view, the iPhone still remains in a league of its own when it comes to user experience and connection to the device.

I can't wait to learn how to create apps for the iPhone. I'm passionate about Apple as a company, and I believe that they will continue to set the bar in the consumer electronics industry.
